Our Programs & Services
The Senior Center
Provides a wide variety of services, including health, nutrition, and educational services, as well as recreational and social activities for our seniors.
Meal Programs
We provide a delicious, nutritious meal five days a week at the Center, and to homebound clients through the “Daily Bread” program.
Nutrition is recognized as an important factor in the well being and productivity of the older citizens in the community.
We serve a noon meal five days a week from 11:30 until 12:30 at the Center. Meals are carefully prepared as approved by the Nutrition project Director of the Southwest Area Office on Aging. Each meal provides one third of the recommended daily allowance and is served in a congregate setting that helps to reduce the isolation, loneliness, and apathy often encountered by the senior population.
For those who are homebound due to illness and can no longer leave home to attend the center, we offer home delivered meals each week day delivered by caring volunteers.
For seniors living in rural areas of Webster County, we make arrangements for a family member, nurse’s aide, friend or volunteer that lives nearby to deliver the frozen meals. These meals can be placed in a microwave or regular oven to be heated for a good hot meal.
Suggested Meal contribution:
60 years + $3.50
Under 60 $6.00
(No one is turned away because of inability to contribute.)
Information & Assistance Services
Are available to help seniors identify resources that help them maintain their independence.
Tax Preparation Assistance
We provide eligible seniors with free assistance in completing both federal and state tax forms, as well as housing expense rebates (MO-PTC).
Transportation
We are a local contact for OATS transportation. We also provide some transportation to eligible seniors through Good Neighbor Transportation services.
