Overcoming Hurdles
Capital Campaign - WE MUST MOVE
The current senior center has been purchased by the county. The county plans to build a new justice building on the site. The senior center MUST find a new home or our services will cease to exist in the near future.
The new building will be 10,000 sq. feet on 2 levels. The lower level will house a safe room for area seniors, a pool room, exercise room and quilting room for our local quilters. The main level will house a commercial kitchen and dining room with a walking track around it, a large conference room suitable for catered meetings of clubs, a smaller room for crafts and health-focused clinics, reading room, game room and office spaces.
The Senior Center’s new location will be near the Marshfield Community Housing and the Massey Park Apartments, just 4 blocks from the square, with easy access to seniors and ideal for community gatherings. We are committed to serving the full spectrum of seniors, from the healthy, active senior who wants to use a lifetime of experience to make a difference in our community through volunteering, to the frail elder who requires assistance meeting the needs of daily life.
